Second Grade Curriculum
Recent Learnings: In the months of January through March, second grade students will practice notating the melody notes “so, la, and mi” on a modified, three-line musical staff. This requires hearing the correct notes and then placing them onto the scale in the correct sequence! Second graders will also continue to accompany their singing with a steady beat played on mallet percussion instruments (like xylophones). They will also be preparing for their performance, “My Camping Trip to the Mountains,” to be held on Friday, March 11th in the Cherokee Gym!

Thank you, thank you; red, yellow, green. Now I know what traffic lights mean.
